Our coaching style is a combination of solutions-focused coaching and systems coaching

We believe that employees, teams and cultures as well as stakeholders and customers are interconnected and operate as an organic system. Positive change may occur on one level initially and extrapolate to other levels. Our approach is to observe tensions, as these present an ideal starting point for change to emerge. Addressing such tensions may require interventions on multiple levels and different types of coaching interventions.

The Business Case of Coaching

For many companies, people are the only source of long-term competitive advantage. Yet, most companies fail to invest in their employees, thereby jeopardizing their own success and even survival. This is especially true for companies in emerging markets, where the focus on access to finance often overshadows investments in human capital. 

One challenge of investing in human capital or coaching is the difficulty of measuring Return On Investments (ROI). Despite this difficulty, a large number of published articles have demonstrated that this results in increased business growth in most cases. The International Coaching Federation (IFC) shows that coaching usually generates an ROI of 400% to 800%. An article from the Harvard Business Review (2004) showed that companies that “spend aggressively on employee development” outperform other companies by 15% to 35% in one year.

Typical outcomes from investments in employee development are improved teamwork, strengthened peer-to-peer and supervisor working relationships, enhanced employee retention, better communication, higher productivity and a positive working environment. These results are no different for businesses in emerging countries and can give them a competitive advantage. For example, Jubilee in Kenya rolled out a leadership development programme in 2014. In the same period, the company saw its revenue grow by 37% and increased its productivity by 22.5%, thereby outperforming all other group companies. Similar results were found for 9 Kenyan SMEs that received executive coaching. Their revenues increased by 48.5% on average after having received coaching.
